Blackwelder Brass Quintet

ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV’s Bass School of Music announces graduate assistantships for trumpets, horn, trombone, and tuba. The ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV Blackwelder Brass Quintet has been actively performing in countless venues around the Oklahoma City metro area and neighboring states, and partnership with local church services. Blackwelder Brass alumni hold positions with many professional ensembles, maintain private teaching studios, and are active musicians around the country.

Ensemble members enjoy a full tuition waiver (does not include fees), stipend, professional preparation, and exceptional faculty support.

The Wanda L. Bass School of Music provides extensive performance opportunities for students: over 250 events each academic year including ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV Symphony Orchestra, Wind Philharmonic and Wind Ensemble concerts; six fully staged opera and music theater productions, eight new music concerts featuring Project 21 student composers; masterclasses; and student, faculty, and guest artist recitals. ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV alumni have been recognized with Grammy, Emmy, and Tony awards and have won full-time positions with symphony orchestras and military bands. Our music degree programs stress virtuosic versatility—integrating performance skills, music scholarship, pedagogy, and professionalism—to prepare students for careers in the 21st century.

The Bass Music Center is state of the art 113,000-square-foot facility that hosts artists and educators from around the world. This world-class facility, built as a collaboration between musicians, acousticians, and architects, features 60 practice rooms, 40 teaching studios, 11 recording venues, 6 ensemble rehearsal spaces, a Black-box Theater, and large concert halls. ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV is an all-Steinway School and accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and the National Council of Accreditation for Teacher Education.
