Disability and Access Services [DAS] are integral to a student’s transition to higher education, particularly for those who need environmental adjustments (e.g. academic processes, dietary, and housing).

Health insurance is required for all full-time students attending classes at ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV as well as part-time international and nursing students. Upon class enrollment, the insurance fee will be billed to student’s account.
ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV offers health insurance to all full-time students through a Student Health Insurance Policy (SHIP) administered by BancFirst Insurance. Coverage is through United Healthcare, a national PPO network. Students on the SHIP pay a $500 deductible per policy year, then the plan will cover 80% of a covered injury or illness. Deductible and co-insurance (20%) are waived for most services at the Campus Health Clinic.

The Scarab
The Scarab is published annually by ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV’s chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, International English Honor Society. It is an anthology of student poetry, fiction, nonfiction and art, with occasional faculty pieces included. The Scarab won the national Sigma Tau Delta award in 2004 for best literary magazine. University Counseling provides short-term, triage based counseling and professional referrals for students as they adjust to life in a college atmosphere.
The staff is comprised of three counselors and an intern and can offer individual, and couples (if both parties are enrolled students at ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV) counseling services. Outside referrals may also be made if the student would benefit from long-term or specialized treatment. Counseling is a confidential process designed to help individuals address concerns, come to a greater self-understanding, and learn effective coping strategies.
Students seek counseling services for many reasons. Some of these include symptoms related to anxiety, depression, trauma (which includes being a member of a marginalized group and fearing for personal safety and the safety of others), suicidal ideation, sexual assault, homesickness, depression, 2SLGBTQIA+, representation and identity, stress management/mindfulness, social issues, relationship issues, severe and persistent mental health issues, and psychiatric referrals.
Services are free to part and full time students.
