All checkouts will need to be done by scheduling time with your Resident Assistant. During that time your RA will meet you at your room and inspect the space based on the room inventory form you turned in at the beginning of the year. Once everything has been inspected the RA will take your key.

Students who do not schedule at the time and check out with an RA will be fined for an improper checkout which is $50.

  • All rooms within your suite must be completely cleaned (swept, mopped, dusted, sinks clean, toilets scrubbed, showers scrubbed, trash taken out, etc.)
    • If you are sharing a bathroom, kitchen, and/or living room and you are the last one to leave for the break (quads and suites), you are responsible for making sure the bathroom, kitchen, and living room are cleaned.
    •  All appliances provided by Housing must be cleaned
  • All windows and patio doors are closed & locked with the blinds down and closed.
  •  Remove all personal belongings from assigned rooms and shared spaces
  • Set your thermostats to heat, auto, and 74 degrees
  • Turn off all lights in rooms and bathrooms.
  •  Sign up with your RA for a checkout time for room inspection and key turn-in!

If you check out after the closing time on the day the residence halls or apartments are closing without an approved extension, you are subject to a daily rate charge per your room type for however many days you stay past the checkout date.

Slow elevators, traffic, and cart shortages are not valid reasons to waive this charge.

If you need to check out after closing time on the day the Residence Halls or apartments are closing, you must submit an Extended Stay Request by the above-listed deadline, and receive approval from your Residence Life Coordinator. Your Residence Life Coordinator will notify you of your Extended Stay approval or denial via Engage. If approved for an extended stay the charge will be the daily rate based on your room type.
